Can you AFFORD to be sick?

Published by Karie Millspaugh on

sickI’m not refering to healthcare or insurance either, even though that’s  a HOT topic right now in the states.

Do you have TIME to be sick?

I know I don’t have TIME available to be sick…

So let me ask you…How important is good health to you?

Do you maintain your health regularly so you can avoid disease or illness?

Or do you wait until you get a health scare then try to reverse the damage that’s already occurred?

Very similar to maintaining a car, you need routine check-ups, oil changes, tire rotation, proper fuel…and the list goes on.

I hate to say this… but we take better care of our homes and automobiles than our bodies.

If you’ve had your health taken from you, due to injury or illness you may have a different perspective.

Without your health… you can’t truly live a FULL life.

All the money in the world cannot save you if you’re bedridden…am I right?

sickoWhy do we take good health for granted when it’s the only vehicle that is taking your spirit through this wonderful life?

Doesn’t it deserve a routine check-up and proper fuel also?

I received a reality check just last year when I caught the flu.

I rarely get sick and thankfully it only lasted 3 days due to taking natural remedies. I don’t know about your situation but I cannot afford to be sick. I’m a single mom that has very little help running my business, caring for my household and being a mom to my 9 year old daughter. I have outsourced help and assistants but overall it’s just me.

I realized just how important good health is when I couldn’t physically get out of bed to even take my daughter to school. In fact I was so ill that I could barely arrange for her nanny to comeget her. Thank goodness my daughter is 9 years old and has been encouraged by me to be independent and helpful…bless her heart!

sickkkThat was a LONG 3 days!

I caught the flu by:

1) Getting exposed to the virus (we can’t always avoid)

2) Staying out one evening in very COLD temperatures after adrastic drop in temperature here in the desert of Las Vegas. (bad choice)

3) I ate JUNKFOOD that evening too! I was at an outdoor festival that was filled with sugary goodies at every booth and had not dressed warm enough. Sugar suppresses your immune system- in other words, causes it to STOP WORKING! (shamefully another bad choice)

Luckily I stopped it from lasting weeks and weeks like some of my co-workers had experienced by allowing myself proper rest, fluids and natural remedies that I will share in future blogs along with my private coaching groups.

healthyWe can control our health to a certain point by increasing our immunity strength with good daily choices. Think of strengthening your inner army with proper ammunition. So that when a war of disease starts in your body, you can fight it off.  Did you ever wonder why some people get the flu and others don’t? Or why those that do get it have a longer time of recovery then others?

It’s very simple. It has to do with your environment and the strength of your immune system when the virus decides to show up in your household.

I like to use this link below to see which states in the US arehurting the most when it comes to health and  choices.

Take a look at your state to see how your environment is for each health stat:

I trust this article will help to raise your level of awareness to health and how YOU have the power to reap the rewards of amazing health!

Life is meant to be LIVED OUT LOUD…not by just mere existence.

Cheers to good health!
