Its ok…. its never too late

karie-blog-feature-2Have you ever had an experience like this? You just had a birthday and you’re shocked at the number of candles on your cake? You think to yourself, when did I turn this old? Where have the years gone and how did it all happen so fast?

Ask yourself these two questions:

  1.           Am I content with how things are in my life right now?
  2. Or is there a feeling of panic just below the surface of your being?

I want to hold a mirror up to you right now and speak on this topic alone because I have had similar experiences as well. Good news my dear… there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I’m currently 39 years old, mother of a gorgeous and brilliant 9 year old daughter and I’ve already been a bride at one time in my life… needless to say, I don’t have the itch to be a mom or bride anytime soon. Women in their 30’s know what I’m referring too… no, that clock of mine is not ticking and isn’t even plugged in. The clock that was and is ticking for me is the need to create serious purpose on this planet and in return live a full life that contains financial freedom and fulfillment of helping others. I really want to leave a small imprint on this planet… and will do everything in my power to make that happen.

The age that I freaked out was age 34, 5 years ago. It felt like I had woken up from a dream and had forgotten to be the master of my own life. I’m sure you can agree that we live on auto-pilot most of the time. Just going through the motions like a leaf blowing in the wind. Seeing where life will take us. That attitude and mindset will get you nowhere. Hoping for fate instead of creating your fate will only leave you disappointed and full of regret.

My wonderful father who taught me a lot about drive and success, also showed me a lot about the implications of being too risk adverse and living out his retirement years full of regret. He would tell me stories of business deals that he had avoided or partnerships that he over analyzed, that now looking back, he realized were mistakes. Those “would be” partners were now living like kings and had a very successful and relaxed retirement filled with golf and travels. I told myself then as a child, I would not take on that trait of my fathers. I would learn to follow my gut and not let my analytical side run the show.

I share this with you today, to inspire and give you hope. There is no such thing as too late to start over. Is there a business or opportunity that you’ve ignored or found “reasons” to avoid in the past? Were you looking for red flags and finding clues that told you to run? Does that thought, “what if this doesn’t work” weigh heavy on your mind? If so… lets shift this around. What if it DOES work? What if your children and grand children get to witness you taking risk and jumping into your dreams? What impression do you think that will leave for generations to come?

Lets start living with no regrets and putting ourselves as far out of our comfort zone as possible, because that my friend…. Is called LIVING!

Love- hope…and peace!
